From March 11 to 13, 2026, the 32nd International Exhibition for Travel & Hospitality MITT 2026 took place at Moscow's Crocus Expo IEC – one of the largest industry events in Russia and the CIS countries.
As part of the business program, the MITT Travel Start 2026 innovative projects competition was held, traditionally bringing together promising technological solutions for tourism.
Key Industry Platform
MITT is not only an exhibition but also a large-scale business platform that unites tour operators, national tourism offices, hotel chains, IT companies, and startups.
In 2026, approximately a thousand companies from dozens of countries participated, confirming the event's status as one of the key ones in the region. The exhibition covered all market segments – from classic travel services to digital solutions transforming the interaction between businesses and travelers.
MITT Travel Start 2026: Technology in Focus
The MITT Travel Start competition, held since 2021, targets companies no older than five years that are developing IT solutions for tourism.
In 2026, it was held for the sixth time. About ten projects reached the final in the areas of TravelTech, HotelTech, and solutions using artificial intelligence. The final presentations took place on March 13: participants presented their developments to an expert jury and a professional audience.
Among the finalists were projects covering a wide range of tasks:
- digital ecosystems for travelers;
- booking and accommodation management services;
- hotel business automation tools;
- platforms for organizing excursions and tours.
This year, solutions in the field of digital travel infrastructure and passenger experience in transport attracted particular attention.
Oblako's Solution for the Transport Industry
Oblako Company was among the participants of MITT Travel Start 2026 and presented a comprehensive IT solution for transport, at the intersection of media, communication, and travel services.
The company develops hardware and software systems that provide passengers with access to content and digital services directly during their journey – on planes, trains, buses, and water transport.
Crucially, the system does not require a constant internet connection to operate. The solution functions autonomously: all content, services, and digital infrastructure are hosted on onboard servers. The system deploys its own Wi-Fi network, to which passengers connect, gaining access to the platform's capabilities via a local website.
Thus, Wi-Fi in this case acts not as a means of accessing the external internet, but as an internal digital environment on board, through which the passenger gains access to content, services, and additional functions.
Internet connection is only required for service tasks:
- content updates;
- analytics collection;
- data synchronization;
- technical maintenance and system management.
This allows the platform to be used even where internet access is limited, unstable, or economically unfeasible.
What the Platform Includes
The key element of the solution is a multimedia platform that combines:
- entertainment content;
- digital services for passengers;
- built-in advertising tools;
- local access via an onboard Wi-Fi network without the need to install applications.
In essence, it's about forming a single digital ecosystem within transport, where passengers get convenient access to the necessary features through a browser on their own device.
Practical Value for the Industry
Improved User Experience
Passengers get access to services and content without installing applications, and the system itself continues to function fully even without external internet.
Autonomy and Reliability
Storing content on onboard servers and operating via a local Wi-Fi network ensure stable access to the platform during the journey.
Monetization of the Transport Environment
Integrated advertising tools allow brands to interact with the audience during their trip.
Development of Travel Infrastructure
The platform opens up opportunities for integrating travel services – from booking to personalized offers directly en route.
The company offers a full-cycle solution – from development to implementation and support, making it applicable for large transport operators.
Technologies in Tourism
MITT 2026 shows that digital solutions are being increasingly adopted in the tourism industry. Key trends include:
- development of online booking services;
- automation of hotel operations;
- use of AI tools;
- emergence of platform solutions and ecosystems.
The Travel Start competition helps the industry draw attention to new projects and assess their potential at an early stage.
MITT Travel Start 2026 confirms the market's sustained interest in technological solutions in tourism. Developments, including Oblako Company's solution, are aimed at improving services and creating a more convenient digital environment for travel.
