Challenge

The transportation company faced low passenger satisfaction and a lack of modern digital services during journeys.
Wi-Fi was installed merely for formality and often didn't work due to poor signal on routes.

It was necessary to create an onboard portal, accessible to all passengers via Wi-Fi, which would:

  • operate completely offline during travel;
  • provide entertainment — movies, TV series, music, games;
  • display the route, stops, and estimated arrival time;
  • include company information, cafe menus at stops, and promotions;
  • collect anonymous analytics to improve service.

Solution

The interactive SmartBus Portal platform was developed, integrating Wi-Fi, multimedia, and analytics:

  • Local server in the bus, storing all content and running the web portal.
  • Automatic synchronization with the cloud when the bus returns to the depot.
  • Cloud CMS, allowing updates to movies, music, and advertising blocks.
  • Modern responsive interface, accessible on any device — smartphones, tablets, laptops.
  • GPS integration — displaying the route, current stop, and estimated arrival time.
  • Analytics module, tracking passenger interest in content, viewership, and average session duration.
